Indiana Jones Meets Lawrence Of Arabia
Egypt and Jordan
After six exhausting weeks in India, Cairo felt like a relaxing vacation getaway. I started my Egyptian adventure by voyaging to the other-worldly White Desert, near the edge of the Sahara. Then, after several days of hookahs, museums, and perfect weather in Cairo, I headed by train to Aswan and Abu Simbal. I hired a felluca with some friends and we sailed down the Nile to Luxor where I was caught up in the hustle of trying to see too many ancient temples in too few days. Some downtime in beautifully chillout town of Dahab peppered with a hike to the top of Mount Sinai and some spectacular dives in the Red Sea, and I was ready to head to Petra and Wadi Rum in Jordan. I only spent 5 days in Jordan, but I left with great memories of feeling something like Indian Jones and Lawrence of Arabia.
